Sweatshop:a factory type place where workers work long hours. Get paid very low wages and work in unlawful conditions.
The term, sweatshop, comes from the time between 1830 and 1850 as a specific type of workshop in which a certain type of middleman, the sweater, directed others in garment making under hot, sweaty conditions. Child labour laws may be violated. Employees may be subject to employer abuse without a way to protext themselves.
Jack Hickey: Many factory owners would lock the kids in the sweatshops so the kids would not run away, this resulted in alot of deaths when a fire happened and the kids could not get out.
